Rumor: Mariners Rejected a Felix Hernandez trade with Boston

Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times reports that the Seattle Mariners rejected a blockbuster three-way trade between the Mariners, Red Sox, and Padres that would have sent Felix Hernandez to Boston and Adrian Gonzalez to Seattle.

After this trade was rejected, the Red Sox settled for Victor Martinez.

Hernandez, 23, has been lights out for the Mariners this season, compiling a 12-4 record with a 2.78 ERA.
